This is a picture of all my Dad and Stepmom's kids and grandkids. It is rare for us all to get a picture together since Danny and I are both military and don't live close to home & my neice, Hope, lives in Dallas.
Caleb and Aunt Amy.
Luke and Uncle Danny.
Houston Museum of Natural Science
A spoiled Caleb showing off the shark pack that his Nana got for him at the Science Museum gift shop.
My sister, Sarah, and her boyfriend Drew came with us to the IMAX.
One day while we were in Houston we went to the Science Museum to see the Wild Safari 3D IMAX. The second we got in there Mama got dizzy and Luke was scared because he said that "the rhino was going to eat him"! So they stayed all of 2 minutes and then left the show to eat at Mc Donalds and shop in the gift shop. Caleb loved it and looked adorable in his 3D glasses. It was cute to watch him keep reaching out to touch things in front of him because they appeared to be so close in 3D! Above are some pictures in a garden outside the museum.
Cousins
Molly
My parents got a new dachshund named Molly and Caleb fell in love. He has never been around a little dog that can sit in his lap and he loved having her close to him so he could pet her. He even said that he wanted to trade Titan for Molly! I don't think that Molly would want to stay at our house too long with Luke around. She was terrified of the 2 year old that is used to petting a 100 pound dog!
Stinkin' Cute!
These two totally crack me up!! They both are very independant when it comes to what they wear and have their own ideas about what is fashionable. I don't usually fight with them about what they are wearing except for when it comes to church on Sunday. That is the one time that Mama gets to pick the outfit and they have to wear it - like it or not (usually not!) They went out in public in the outfits that they are wearing in these pictures. Caleb was pretending that he was a "animal guy" and Luke thinks he is a cowboy!

Overcoming the Enemy
I read these quotes last night and thought they were so well phrased & such truth for my life right now:
We must realize that it is not Satan who defeats us; it is our openness to him. To perfectly subdue the devil we must walk "in the shelter of the Most High" (Psalm 91:1). Satan is tolerated for one purpose: the warfare between the devil and God's saints thrusts us into Christlikeness, where the nature of Christ becomes our only place of rest and security. God allows warfare to facilitate His eternal plan, which is to make man in His image.
AND
In the battles of life, your peace is actually a weapon. Indeed, your confidence declares that you are not falling for the lies of the devil. You see, the first step toward having spiritual athority over the adversary is having peace in spite of our circumstances. When Jesus confronted the devil, He did not confront Satan with His emotions or in fear. Knowing that the devil was a liar, He simply refused to be influenced by any other voice than God's. His peace overwhelmed Satan, His authority than shattered the lie, which sent the demons fleeing.

The Most Beautiful Pregnant Woman in the World
Many of you have been asking for pictures of Sabrina since she is pregnant with twins. Unfortunately, she has a tendency to be shy (I know that's shocking) so in the interest of sharing our joy with all of you I am covertly posting some pictures of her. I have been away for almost a month now at Fort Bragg, NC. I miss my wife and boys severely and cannot wait to get back home to be with them. Soon I will also have the blessed addition of two girls. How a guy like me gets two energetic boys, twin girls, and such a beautiful and loving wife I don't know but thanks be to God for his indescribable gifts.

A funny dream
We were on our way to pick Daddy up from work the other day (he was going to help us shop at the commissary) when Caleb told me that he "had a really funny dream when it was dark and night time." I asked him to tell me what the dream was about and this is what he said:
"Once upon a time there were some chefs and bully boys and the bully boys were bombing the chef’s house. And the chef said, 'what this place is a mess,' and then the bully boys went running away in the rain forest and turned into prickly trees and the pricklies got on the chef."
As he was was telling me his dream he was laughing his contagious belly laugh! I thought that his dream was quite imaginative since I am not sure that he knows what "chefs" are? I do know where he got the term "bully boy." That is a term of endearment that we call Luke because he has been known to be a bully to other kids so we call him "Bully Boy Maddry." He is for sure the cutest Bully Boy we have ever seen!!

It is well with my soul
I have been feeling like my life is so out of control these past few months. Finding out we're having twins, getting so sick, Joseph's long unpredictable hours, and last night I started having contractions at 10 min. intervals. I am so anxious about Joseph leaving us for 6 1/2 weeks, how I'm going to take care of the kids, the twins coming during his hardest rotation, the Joseph leaving us again for 5 weeks after the twins are born and now these contractions...I'm feeling overwhelmed! I'm a mess. A control freak who is out of control!
So, I went to my bible study this morning and heard the following story:
IN THE 1870s Horatio Spafford was a successful Chicago lawyer and a close friend of evangelist Dwight L. Moody. Spafford had invested heavily in real estate, but the Chicago fire of 1871 wiped out his holdings. His son had died shortly before the disaster.
Spafford and his family desperately needed a rest so in 1873 he planned a trip to Europe with his wife and four daughters. While in Great Britain he also hoped to help Moody and Sankey with their evangelistic tour. Last minute business caused Spafford to delay his departure, but he sent his wife and four daughters on the S.S. Ville Du Havre as scheduled, promising to follow in a few days. On November 22 the ship was struck by the English ship Lochearn, and it sank in twelve minutes. Several days later the survivors landed at Cardiff, Wales, and Mrs. Spafford cabled her husband the brief message, "Saved alone."
When Horatio Spafford made the ocean crossing to meet his grieving wife, he sailed near the place where his four daughters had sunk to the ocean depths. There, in the midst of his sorrow, he wrote these unforgettable words that have brought solace to so many in grief:
When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to know,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Does that story put things into perspective?!
Lord, this is what I want the anthem of my life to be in the next couple of months...and beyond!

PINK...the new color for the Maddry household!!!

This pregnancy continues to bring us surprises! At our last ultrasound we were shocked with the news that Baby A & Baby B are GIRLS!! I was so convinced that we were having more boys. I didn't think that we knew how to make girls (I also never knew that twins were even an option for us!) Anyway, to say that we are all thrilled is an understatement. At first Caleb wasn't too excited because he wanted more brothers to play "army" with, but he is warming up to the idea of sisters. We have been getting fun pink gifts in the mail and Caleb is the first to "ooh" and "aah" with me! Luke has been carrying 2 baby dolls around with him at school and doesn't let anyone touch them and calls them "girls". I'm not too sure how much he understands, but he does identify anything pink to a baby. Joseph of course is super excited!! And already nervous about the teenage years!! I am beside myself!!! I love looking at clothes and am already working on the nursery. So exciting!!!
