Yesterday Caleb walked up to his Daddy and told him, "Man looks at outward appearance, but Lord looks at his heart." Jospeh sent him to tell me and it was the most beautiful thing that I have heard Caleb say. Joseph has been memorizing scripture with Caleb for over a year now, but this was the first time that he has ever just quoted it unprompted. I pray that God continues to store His Word in Caleb's heart!
**The verse Caleb quoted was a portion of 1 Samuel 16:7 "But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God [sees] not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
"They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." ~Isaiah 61:3

Soccer Update
Caleb had his second soccer game yesterday and it went wonderful! The Kicker's lost 5-0 but Caleb had a great time, played quite a bit and there were no tears. It is so great that those kids have so much fun and have no idea that they lost so badly!
I didn't get any pictures, but I was able to get Caleb there on time for his team picture and game and thought that was miraculous since I am having yucky morning sickness now :(

Manly Men
Last weekend Joseph had to change the break pads on my car and was teaching Caleb how to take the tire off the car. Caleb loved helping his Daddy and did a lot of the work while Joseph supervised. During this, Luke wandered around looking cute and for trouble to get into. Don't my boys look like studs?!?!

Museum Day in Houston
Here are some pictures that I haven't posted yet of our weekend trip to Houston a couple of weeks ago. The had a free museum day and we went down to the Science Museum and the Children's Museum. Both were very cool and we all had a great time!

Soccer and the Maddry boys
Soccer season is upon us and the Maddry men are gearing up. Caleb got new soccer cleats & shin guards and looks pretty spiffy. His team is made up of 4 & 5 year olds and Caleb is the youngest. We have practice on Mondays & games on Saturdays. Practice is getting better. The first on was pretty rough on Caleb and he wanted his Daddy out there on the field with him at all times. The second practice went a lot better and Caleb felt more comfortable on the field by himself.
Luke Maddry on the other hand doesn't realize that he isn't on the team and we are always having to drag him off the field. He kicks that ball better than some of the 5 year olds and the other parents have commented on what a "natural" Luke is. He really is good at sports for being so little. He loves sports and when the coach tells the team to line up with their balls - Luke grabs his ball and gets in line too. Luckily the coach is really nice and lets Luke participate too!
Our First Real Soccer Game
Well, we had our first soccer game yesterday. We were at the fields early because near the fields are some trails where Joseph went for a run while I took the boys for a good power walk. The whole morning we talked about our first soccer game and Caleb seemed really excited until it was time to start warming up. Then he decided that he didn't want to play & wanted to go home. Caleb played soccer last year in Maryland, but it was a non-competitive league, that met once a week, where they basically learned a few skills and would scrimmage against each other for the last 15 min. of practice. This year we have practice & a game once a week. Caleb really wanted to play, but never does well with new activities at first. The last quarter of the game he really got into it and started having fun. Everytime he would do something good -like run down the field- he would stop and look for us to give us the "thumbs up." It was so cute how he did that, but it was also usually right in the middle of the game. I think this week we will have to work on helping him keep his eye on the ball.
Side note - our team the "Kickers" lost badly. It was a shut out. We knew it was going to be bad when the game first started and they put the ball into play. Our team stood there frozen while the other team kicked the ball right past them and into the goal. Our team never moved a muscle... or knew what happened.
