Caleb's Photography

The couch...

Getting better...the dog - centered in the picture!

Of course his 2 FAVORITE things in the world..PUPS & BLANKIE!

And I thought that this was a creative picture of his aunt & uncle

Caleb has found a new love...photography! It really shouldn't be too suprising since the day that he was born we have been taking pictures of him. We just need to get him his own digital camera since he has a tendency to drop mine!

The Home Stretch & AOA

Well, we are on the home stretch to Joseph coming home after being gone for the past 6 ½ weeks! There were hard times, but I really feel like God grew me (inside & literally outside) while he was gone. I have always known that Joseph does more than most husbands to help out at home, but never realized how much I depend on him or take him for granted. Since he’s been gone I have taken the trash out, put a new trash bag in the trash can and scooped poop for the first time in our marriage. I have given baths & put the boys to bed more in the past 6 ½ weeks than I have in the past 4 ½ years. From now until Christmas Joseph will be gone quite a bit so it really was a great for me to learn just how much I am capable of doing on my own. With that said we are SO happy that our Daddy is coming home tomorrow! While I have missed his help around the house, I have missed his presence in my days more.

While we are on the subject of what a ROCKSTAR my hubby is I can’t go without mentioning his latest accomplishment. Joseph has been chosen to be a member of the Maryland Chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Only the top quarter of his class was even considered and asked to send in a resume. Even then, less than 10% of his class was invited to be a member. AOA students are chosen not only for their high academic standing, but also for leadership among peers, professionalism, sense of ethics and promise of success in future medical career. What is most amazing to me is that as impressive as he is in his medical career thus far Joseph still strives hard to be the best dad and husband he can be. And to top all that off he has never turned his back on God and spends time daily in His Word. Joseph will tell you that the most important things in his life are God and his family and he lives that to be true! Joseph seeks harder than anything else to be the kind of man that God has called him to be. If my boys turn out to be anything like the man their father is we will be truly blessed. On our way to the hospital, the day that Caleb was born, this song came on the radio that really touched both Joseph and I. Whenever I hear it I feel so blessed to have married the man that I did!

I Want To Be Just Like You - Phillips, Craig & Dean

He climbs in my lap for a goodnight hug
He calls me Dad and I call him Bub
With his faded old pillow and a bear named Pooh
He snuggles up close and says, "I want to be like you"
I tuck him in bed and I kiss him goodnight
Trippin' over the toys as I turn out the light
And I whisper a prayer that someday he'll see
He's got a father in God 'cause he's seen Jesus in me

Lord, I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be just like me
I want to be a holy example
For his innocent eyes to see
Help me be a living Bible, Lord
That my little boy can read
I want to be just like You 'Cause he wants to be like me

Got to admit I've got so far to go
Make so many mistakes and I'm sure that You know
Sometimes it seems no matter how hard I try
With all the pressures in life I just can't get it all right
But I'm trying so hard to learn from the best
Being patient and kind, filled with Your tenderness
'Cause I know that he'll learn from the things that he sees
And the Jesus he finds will be the Jesus in me

Right now from where he stands I may seem mighty tall
But it's only 'cause I'm learning from the best Father of them all

This is a picture of all my Dad and Stepmom's kids and grandkids. It is rare for us all to get a picture together since Danny and I are both military and don't live close to home & my neice, Hope, lives in Dallas.

Luke and Uncle Danny.

Houston Museum of Natural Science

A spoiled Caleb showing off the shark pack that his Nana got for him at the Science Museum gift shop.
My sister, Sarah, and her boyfriend Drew came with us to the IMAX.

One day while we were in Houston we went to the Science Museum to see the Wild Safari 3D IMAX. The second we got in there Mama got dizzy and Luke was scared because he said that "the rhino was going to eat him"! So they stayed all of 2 minutes and then left the show to eat at Mc Donalds and shop in the gift shop. Caleb loved it and looked adorable in his 3D glasses. It was cute to watch him keep reaching out to touch things in front of him because they appeared to be so close in 3D! Above are some pictures in a garden outside the museum.

Cousins

Caleb only has one cousin and her name is Hope. She was in Houston the same time we were, visiting her dad.

Molly

My parents got a new dachshund named Molly and Caleb fell in love. He has never been around a little dog that can sit in his lap and he loved having her close to him so he could pet her. He even said that he wanted to trade Titan for Molly! I don't think that Molly would want to stay at our house too long with Luke around. She was terrified of the 2 year old that is used to petting a 100 pound dog!

Stinkin' Cute!

These two totally crack me up!! They both are very independant when it comes to what they wear and have their own ideas about what is fashionable. I don't usually fight with them about what they are wearing except for when it comes to church on Sunday. That is the one time that Mama gets to pick the outfit and they have to wear it - like it or not (usually not!) They went out in public in the outfits that they are wearing in these pictures. Caleb was pretending that he was a "animal guy" and Luke thinks he is a cowboy!

Overcoming the Enemy

I read these quotes last night and thought they were so well phrased & such truth for my life right now:

We must realize that it is not Satan who defeats us; it is our openness to him. To perfectly subdue the devil we must walk "in the shelter of the Most High" (Psalm 91:1). Satan is tolerated for one purpose: the warfare between the devil and God's saints thrusts us into Christlikeness, where the nature of Christ becomes our only place of rest and security. God allows warfare to facilitate His eternal plan, which is to make man in His image.

AND

In the battles of life, your peace is actually a weapon. Indeed, your confidence declares that you are not falling for the lies of the devil. You see, the first step toward having spiritual athority over the adversary is having peace in spite of our circumstances. When Jesus confronted the devil, He did not confront Satan with His emotions or in fear. Knowing that the devil was a liar, He simply refused to be influenced by any other voice than God's. His peace overwhelmed Satan, His authority than shattered the lie, which sent the demons fleeing.

The Most Beautiful Pregnant Woman in the World

Many of you have been asking for pictures of Sabrina since she is pregnant with twins. Unfortunately, she has a tendency to be shy (I know that's shocking) so in the interest of sharing our joy with all of you I am covertly posting some pictures of her. I have been away for almost a month now at Fort Bragg, NC. I miss my wife and boys severely and cannot wait to get back home to be with them. Soon I will also have the blessed addition of two girls. How a guy like me gets two energetic boys, twin girls, and such a beautiful and loving wife I don't know but thanks be to God for his indescribable gifts.

Babes in the cradle

It's crazy to me to think that both of my boys and their daddy slept in this cradle at one time! We got it out to get ready for the twins and the boys of course had to make sure that it was tested by them first. Can you believe that when we bring the twinkies home from the hospital they will both be able to fit in here with plenty of room!!!
