Be glad you can't hear me through the internet

"Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

So I am in the beginning stages of planning our next vacation. This is going to be a special vacation, because... it will be sans kids! Our first va-ca without our four Little Darlings!

"Laaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Sorry, I get so excited when I think about it that I break out in spontaneous song!!

We had been thinking about it for a while, but weren't sure we were going to be able to fit in a month long backpacking trip through Europe. And we can't. BUT we can fit in a little jaunt - somewhere together!

"Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Okay, pull it together Sab Mad, so here is where I need your help...where should we go??? I don't want to be gone any longer the 3 or 4 nights, so it can't be anywhere too far because of jet lag (have I mentioned 1000 times that I really want to stay in a bungalow, with a glass bottom, in Tahiti?) We are thinking maybe Mexico or the Caribbean?

"Laaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

Yeah, so I'm looking for recommendations and suggestions. Anyone? Anyone? Please...anyone??

we get a week at a timeshare from our inlaws each year for our anniversary gift. Every other year we go without the kids because we use our miles and fly. This year we are going to Branson for our week. We had to reschedule from Nov. because father in law had a stroke. (they watch the kids for the week...double gift!) Now we are scheduled for March...and he now has a brain tumor...we shall see!

SOOO exciting! We're going to take our first solo vacation, too! This March is our 10th anniversary, and over the summer we're going to do a short (also 3-4 night) vacation somewhere in the Pacific Northwest where my parents live. (Cuz they're the ones who will be watching our kids.) So I'm sharing your joy! :)

Sorry I haven't got any fabulous suggestions for you. I'm sure the two of you are going to have a blast together, though! Have fun planning!

E-mail me because I have lots of suggestions! We went to a fabulous resort in the Mayan Riviera last year and LOVED it! Jessi and Randy went to the one next to it a few years before and loved it too. I would recommend Worry Free Vacations. They have great packages and prices, and lots of last minute deals if you can do that. I've been helping another friend plan a vacation there, but now they are going to Spain. Bummer, right? Do you have time for that?

ok, i know you said no jet leg but you don't have kids and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and you should take some more days off and cooome to the paris of the middle east. please.

there are mountains and famous cedars and tons of ancient ruins and the sea and lots of shopping and some of the best food in the middle east.

and, i might be able to get you free housing. it would not necessarily be the most romantic getaway ever, but..

Oooh, sounds wonderful! I heard Destin, FL is a beautiful beach getaway. Mike and I went to Disney on our honeymoon and I'd go back there in a heartbeat without kids. There's so much to do and some of the resorts are perfect for couples traveling alone.
