Caleb and I were hangin' out together on the playground, while Luke and Daddy were at soccer practice, and we had a really good talk. Caleb is a funny kid and is starting to get really good at having conversations about life. I'm not going to divulge our entire conversation, but here is something that made me laugh really hard. It went like this:
C: "Mommy, when you were a kid did you have Teenager Mutant Ninja Turtles?"
S: (laughing) "Yes, Caleb we had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
C: "I don't know their names, do you?"
And the sad thing was...I DID!

SOCCER UPDATE:
The boys had their first soccer game last weekend. The excitement level at the Mad House was out of control Saturday!
Luke's game was first... and he is crazy out on the field. He looked like he was playing Rugby and not soccer. He was running into the kids and knocking them over and it wasn't even to get to the ball!!! He was so excited and forgot he was on a soccer field and thought he was in a mosh pit. When the other kids would get tangled with each other and fall down, so would Luke - even if he was on the other side of the field! Yes, he is our physically aggressive child and we are going to have to work on that with him. He's not angry or mad, but very excited. You know how Dalmatians pee on people when excited? Luke pushes people. Both are pretty unacceptable and we are working on Luke. Hopefully this Saturday will be better!

Caleb did awesome. At first he was a little timid (opposite of Luke - not aggressive enough) and would run around the perimeter of the kids, not getting in the crowd to the ball. Then we told him to pretend he was playing against Daddy and that helped him get more aggressive! He scored 2 goals and is one of the better kids on the team!
His coach is a nut! This guy has obviously NEVER coached kids before - his expectaions were totally unrealistic.
Here is a picture of the beginning of the game when Caleb's coach is trying to teach them some "plays":
And then once they got on the field he was trying to teach them positions! To top it all off he told the ref that he wanted to switch sides of the field at half time! Joseph and I just stared at each other and then busted out laughing.
Needless to say, after the second time the ref blew her whistle and the other team scored in 2 seconds while our kids were still standing in their "positions" the coach threw his little play board on the sidelines and focused on getting the kids to kick the ball. Much more realistic!
