Airing My Dirty Laundry!

I have tons of pictures that I want to post, but haven't had time because of this:

This picture is in no way doctored to make it look like there is more laundry than there really is. As a matter of fact, there were still 2 (maybe 3) loads that were in the laundry room. The laundry is out of control! I usually make Friday and Monday laundry days, but last Friday I had MOPS, we were busy over the weekend and Monday we went to the Botanical Gardens. So above is what happens when I miss 2 laundry days. 4 kids, 2 adults and many outfits a day...sometimes I wish we lived in a nudist colony. What am I thinking? No I DON'T!!

Ahhhh...here is what it looked like after Joseph came home and put away all the laundry (I wash, fold and he puts away)!

Love the laundry pict!!! I am constantly fighting a mound of dirty clothes - and you have two more children than we do. Gotta love your honesty!

Ugh, laundry...it's endless. One of my friends has a great system that you and I might benefit from when our kids get older - she just yells "DRYER!" when the load is done and the kids collect their clothes, fold them, and put them away. Isn't that just dreamy? :)

Hey Sab Mad,

I too love your honesty. We've all been there. Something that helps us is that I teach the children how to fold and put away their own laundry at the age of three. They love it and think they are such big boys. As they get older their responsibilities increase. My 5 & 6 year olds fold all the laundry (including linens) and put it away. My 2 1/2 yr old helps me put clothes into the dryer. I've heard it said before that by the age of 7 a child should be able to manage the home for one full day. That's our goal. Children are amazing. They can and desire to be helpers in the family. They get such a sense of accomplishment from it. They can prepare meals, clean the house, and change diapers. Just a thought. :) I might add, our boys get plenty of playtime. And I never sit while they are doing their chores (unless I'm nursing). We all are helpers in our home.

Love you, sister!
